• Support cyanide detection testing, to the
extent that a valid, reliable, internationally
accepted method is available that does
not involve animal testing.
• Development of a MAC-certified product
line, consisting of highly traded and
desired organisms from a variety of
regions and locations.
The re-launch of MAC in 2008 requires
support from all stakeholder groups—
particularly hobbyists. We want to support
you as the driving force of change and
help you encourage industry operators
to adopt best practices and incorporate
the sale of MAC-certified products into
their businesses. To this end, we plan to
engage hobbyists and their clubs through
collaborative educational programs, special
events, promotions, marketing campaigns,
and presentations regarding MAC, its
programs, and the state of the marine
ornamental trade worldwide.
Please take the first step and sign up to
receive the redesigned MAC E-Newsletter,
which provides the latest information
about MAC’s programs, certified products,
and special events, by contacting us at

practice used by certified fishers.
MAC wants to ensure certified product is
available for purchase in your area so that
you can easily help support sustainable
fishing and handling practices with each
organism purchased for your tank. In this
way, we can together promote healthy
fish, healthy reefs, and, ultimately, a
healthy hobby. D
